D N Prahlad
Founder
D N Prahlad, founder and Chairperson of the Surya Group, has had a distinguished career in the IT industry, working with several Fortune 50 companies and leading global delivery methods. As an early Infosys employee, he played a crucial role in establishing the company as a global IT leader over nearly two decades.
In 1999, Prahlad founded Surya, focusing on Financial Control & Risk Management solutions, leveraging his vast experience to build advanced technology and sustainable institutions. He is an advisory board member at the Indian Institute of Science's Computer Science and Automation Department and PathShodh Healthcare. He also served as an independent director on Infosys' Board and as non-executive Chairman of their subsidiary Edgeverve.
Prahlad holds a B.Sc. in Mathematics from Bangalore University and an Engineering Degree in Electrical & Electronics Technology from the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru.
Venky Vishwanathan
Co-Founder
Venky is a career Investment Banker with nearly 3 decades of experience in Global Capital Markets with Global Bulge Bracket Banks.
He is the former Head of Capital Markets and Treasury Solutions Asia at Deutsche Bank, Singapore and Co-Head of Corporate Finance Asia - a US$ 1 bn topline business with 300+ bankers. He was also the Co-Head of the European Financial Institutions Group with Deutsche Bank in London, and held senior positions encompassing structured finance, capital markets and corporate finance.
More recently he set up and ran InCred Group’s Wholesale Banking business, leading a team of 100+ team members across investment banking, equity capital markets, wholesale debt markets, and equities research & broking practice, and created a market leading platform in India.
He has a post graduate diploma in management from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta and an undergraduate degree in Economics from St Stephen’s College, Delhi.
Gopal Sharma
Co-Founder
Gopal currently serves as the CEO of Surya Digital, a Surya Group company. Gopal's expertise lies in building digital products and software performance engineering.
Gopal launched his career at Qualcomm in San Diego, California, where he made significant contributions to the Android Open Source Project (AOSP).
His expertise and passion for cutting-edge technology led him to Apple in Cupertino, California, where he played a key role in the development of iCloud.com, further honing his skills in innovative software solutions.
Gopal earned his Bachelor of Science and Engineering in Computer Science Engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, graduating with the highest honors, Summa Cum Laude, reflecting his academic excellence and commitment to the field.
